Network Parameters
Data about water produced and lost every day in the network.
Utility name: Name of the water company, e.g. 'Boston'.
Water produced daily or annually (MGD): Enter either the average annual production or the average daily production in millions of gallons per day.
Water sold daily or annually (MGD): If known, enter either the average annual or daily sales in millions of gallons per day.
Unaccounted For Water (UFW): Percentage of water produced but not sold (typically 12 to 25%). If sales data is known, leave UFW blank. If sales data is not known, enter UFW. If UFW is unknown, enter a number between 14 and 18%.
Cost per 1,000 gallons ($): The actual value to the utility of the lost water, including for example: production cost, resale value (including bulk sales or sales lost to mandatory restrictions on water usage), and cost of developing new water sources. If cost is unknown, then $1.00 per thousand gallons is reasonable.
